This week marked the close of the Go4SET Hub, a phenomenal initiative that gave students the chance to truly experience life as an engineer. Ocado Engineering and the Ocado Foundation partnered with the EDT, inspiring students to pursue STEM subjects, develop skills, and heighten their appreciation of environmental issues. This has been a fantastic way to extend the message of the Year of Engineering; the Government’s year-long campaign celebrating and raising the profile of the engineering industry among students nationwide.

Three reasons to opt for modular buildings

This year the Buildings Technology team, who look after the Ocado property, undertook a project to upgrade the facilities for our Service Delivery staff in Hatfield. The Prince’s Trust visits Ocado Engineering

Earlier in August, Ocado Engineering was delighted to welcome a group of visitors from the Prince’s Trust for an insightful view into the world of engineering at Ocado. The Prince’s Trust believes every young person should have the chance to succeed. They help 11 to 30 years-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to transform their lives. Last year they helped more than 56,000 young people turn their lives around and their work has generated £1.4 billion of value to society over the last 10 years alone.

What is Bot School?

For our Hatfield and Dordon automated warehouses, Ocado Engineering acted mainly as a procurer and integrator of third party turnkey solutions or a buyer of individual parts; however, since the introduction of the Ocado Smart Platform (OSP) CFCs – Customer Fulfilment Centre AKA our huge warehouses – we have made the shift towards developing and designing our own automation solutions and MHE equipment, and then commissioning, installing and maintaining these solutions on premise ourselves.
